Hi, I’m Genevieve- the hands, heart, and slightly clay-covered human behind Black Lagoon Pottery.

I’m a self-taught potter creating handmade pieces from my home studio in Ocala, Florida. I love the entire process of working with clay- from centering a lump of mud on the wheel to trimming, glazing, and finally opening the kiln to see how everything turned out.

My pottery is a mix of functional, decorative, colorful, and completely one-of-a-kind pieces. I’m especially drawn to making things that bring a little personality and joy to everyday life. You’ll find everything from mugs and bowl to spoon rests, planters, picture frames, and whatever else I happen to dream up next.

I don’t aim for perfectly identical pieces. The little variations, wonky details, and unexpected glaze results are part of what makes handmade pottery special. Every piece has its own story- and hopefully finds a home where it can become part of yours.
